SUSTAINABILITY

Our timber is sourced mainly from the Blue Mountains. The trees are felled as a result of storms or are approved for removal by local Council. This resource would otherwise be chipped, burnt or sent to landfill.

We mill the timber our selves using a portable sawmill. The timber is then air dried in our yard for up to a year.

The manufacturing process for plastic and composite materials rely on chemical resins and fossil fuels that release carbon and increase emissions. Timber however, takes carbon out of the air and store it in wood fibre. The main energy source for the growth of timber is the sun. Timber keeps that carbon safely out of the atmosphere and helps reduce emissions.

Californian Redwood(Sequoia Sempervirens) is a highly prized softwood known for its distinctive and attractive colouring that varies from reddish brown heartwood to light, creamy coloured sapwood. Native to the USA, this timber is no longer commercially available in Australia.
